Have you ever wondered how things are made? And we have these special materials that allow us to manufacture amazing things everywhere. So we will be discussing 3 awesome materials namely PP, PE, and PTFE.
Let's talk about PP first. PP is a super sturdy plastic and can work for many applications. Think about a substance that could serve as a builder for some motor components, render food safe containers, and be a fun plaything! That’s PP: it’s tough and it can take a lot of work before breaking.
PE is other fantastic material. It is strong also but softer (think about the plastic bags you see everywhere, milk jugs, playground equipment - PE is used to make all of these!). If you go down a playground slide or lift a bag of groceries, you are using PE.
The most special material of all is PTFE. You may be more familiar with its famous name, Teflon. Julklapp ^^ super cool because nothing clinged to it! Have you ever come across a cooking pan which makes the food glide without killing your Fear Factor? That's PTFE at work! Doctors and scientists also use PTFE in special tools or even in some machines that go to space.
Such materials are the heroes of the making world. These are lightweight so very easy to take about. Just picture yourself dragging a feather; these materials can be so lightweight! They also don't get damaged when exposed to harsh chemicals. That’s what allows them to be used in so many different locations.
Take a look around you, and you would spot these materials all around! Doctors use these materials in hospitals to produce medical devices such as tubes for improving patients. These materials also are used to make key parts like bumpers and fuel tanks in car factories. They are even found in your toys, kitchen tools and objects throughout your home.
Each material has unique powers. Both PP and PE are tough, but PE is brittle on touch. PTFE doesn't stick to anything, and it doesn't break down at extremely high temperatures. But they all share one thing in common, they are light and strong!
