PP and PE are usually used in the food industry, for production of bags and containers. Chefs and parents like to use these plastics because they are safe to be in contact with food. No icky, icky chemicals will seep into your lunch or your snack! Car makers also love these plastics, because they can use them to form key vehicle parts, such as bumpers and gas tanks. The plastics don’t weigh much, so that means cars can be lighter and can go less gas.
Choosing between them, what you want to produce should be considered. Polyethylene is pliable and can have some translucency, like water bottles. Polypropylene is more rigid and can withstand more heat, so it's ideal for tough applications.
These plastics benefit the Earth in that they are recyclable.” Recycling allows us to use them over and over rather than discarding them. Other companies are even producing these plastics from plants as a green alternative. It is a huge contribution toward a clean and healthy planet.
